Georges SOYKA was born in 1988 in Luxembourg City and raised in Mondorf-les-Bains, where he went to the local music school to learn the trumpet at age 9 with Olivier Gravier.
From 2001 to 2007 Georges studied the trumpet with Prof. Charles Consbruck at the Conservatoire of Luxembourg City where he also took chamber music classes, music theory, harmony and jazz trumpet lessons.
From 2007 to 2013, Georges studied classical trumpet at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe, Germany with Prof. Reinhold Friedrich and got his Master’s degree of classical trumpet in 2013.
Followed by a Master’s degree in jazz trumpet with Ruud Breuls at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Netherlands in 2015, Georges was playing in numerous jazz bands and touring Germany, France, the UK during the following years.
Since 2020, Georges is a professor for classical trumpet and chamber music at the Conservatoire of Luxembourg City and continues playing classical and jazz music as well as many other styles with different orchstras and bands, such as the Minor Majors, Orkester Konterbont, 7Moukekingen and many others.
